Christian school sues sports association over transgender participation
I am constantly asked “why don’t the girls just refuse to play against the male cheats pretending to be female in sport?”
It is a great question but unfortunately the answer is “because it is not that simple.”
The Australian Sports Commission released so-called ‘guidelines’ a few years back ‘encouraging’ all sporting organisations to prefer inclusion of males at the expense of females. If sporting codes refuse to follow their guidelines they are threatened with sanctions, fines or legal action.
Most local sporting organisations are run by volunteers and usually raise just enough money to keep the lights on. Very few have a war-chest set aside to fight legal battles or fines that will come their way if they defend, promote or protect female sex-based rights. It is a mess to say the least.
I have been contacted by parents, coaches and officials who all feel caught between a rock and a hard place. They admire those of us who stand up and speak out but feel too vulnerable to take a public stand for fear of repercussions in their workplace, family or community.
They have seen what happened to me for taking on Football Australia’s woeful policies and have been deterred in the short term. The wins we have had are encouraging some and we need to come alongside female athletes and their clubs and support further actions.
In the US a whole school was banned from participation in all sports because one of their basketball teams refused to take the court against a team that presented an unfair and unsafe playing field.
Mid Vermont Christian School says they were barred from all athletic play after forfeiting against a Long Trail girls high school basketball team that had a biological male on their team on Feb. 21.
The Christian PK-12 school says they were “irreparably harmed by being denied participation” and “losing out on playing competitive sports as well as academic competitions,” their lawsuit, filed by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), reads.
“The State is entitled to its own views, but it is not entitled, nor is it constitutional, to force private, religious schools across the state to follow that orthodoxy as a condition to participating in Vermont’s tuitioning program and the State’s athletic association,” the lawsuit reads.
Unfortunately, this is likely one of the few pathways going forward. Female athletes, and primarily their parents, coaches and officials need to stand up and speak out. There may be repercussions but it will be worth it!
What price can really be placed on the value of females having access to single-sex sports, services and spaces?
Are Australians really prepared to allow girls and women to be injured in sport because they are forced to play against male bodies?
Are families really ok with putting girls at risk by allowing males into female changerooms?
Are coaches and officials really prepared to give away their integrity and decency for the sake of a few blokes who wish to dominate women?
This video provides an example of what can happen when a male basketball player is allowed to play in a women's competition:
Giant male in Kipp Academy in MA injured 3 girls during a girls basketball match. They ended the game early before he can hurt more girls.

Men beating up girls is celebrated by the Left in the name of inclusivity.
This isn’t inclusive. This is criminal. pic.twitter.com/Qvl0lEMYuO
