WA MLC Michelle Hoffman has asked reasonable questions of the government regarding female sex based rights in sport.

On Wednesday, June 10, Hoffman asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Sport and Recreation two questions. Hoffman said she was representing the increasing concerns of parents and players.

1. Does the government recognise that allowing biological boys to compete against biological girls in female only sporting categories is a significant deterrent for some girls to playing sport?

2. Given that the International Olympic Committee has determined to limit the Olympic women’s categories to biological females, will the government support sporting competitions that wish to do the same?

As expected the government gave a non answer and refused to take measures to protect women’s sport from males who wish to participate.
