Trans lobby group get sneaky tax breaks

Equality Australia is a political lobby group that promotes deceiving children into believing they can be the opposite sex.

They actively campaign to erase women from law, as well as oppose free speech and religious freedom, among other things.

Despite this the Labor government has sneakily found a way to defy Federal Court findings and grant them DGR status which results in huge tax breaks.

It is sneaky because they buried the fact in a bill amending Australia’s superannuation legislation.

The government have so far refused to answer why they have gone to such great lengths to support the political lobby group

Equality Australia was denied status as a public benevolent institution – a key gateway to endorsement by the Australian Taxation Office as a deductible gift recipient and the fringe benefits tax exemption – by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

In its decision, it noted that the body had a “non-benevolent purpose of engaging in advocacy to agitate for law reform and social change, and this purpose did not amount to benevolent relief to people in need”.

That decision was upheld in an appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and then the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia, which returned with a verdict of its own in 2024, backing both of those decisions.

Australia’s Governor-General Sam Mostyn is a patron of Equality Australia. The lobby group has actively campaigned against Sall Grover and women’s sex based rights in the Federal court as well as arguing against the Lesbian Action Group being allowed to hold meetings for females only.

The Coalition, backed by One Nation, will introduce an amendment to remove Equality Australia from the list of organisations receiving DGR status, but without support from the Greens and other crossbenchers, the Labor bill is all but certain to pass.
