The White House calls out the Australian eSafety Commission

Censorship has no place in a democracy

For years now the Australian eSafety Commission has been on a censorship rampage, trying to silence anyone who opposes gender ideology and free speech. Not only do they go after Australian citizens like me and Celine Against the Machine, they have also tried to censor Elon Musk and Billboard Chris, a dad who exposes the evils of gender ideology.

The Canadian father, Chris Elston, has fought back in court and is still awaiting a decision. He was ordered by eSafety to take down a post that criticised a trans-identified woman who works for the World Health Organisation. X refused to take down the post but did geo-block it.

A US government department has now weighed in on Australia’s attempts to censor criticism.

The US Department of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor published a statement on social media on Thursday saying it was “deeply concerned” by the decision to remove the post.

“The Department of State is deeply concerned about efforts by governments to coerce American tech companies into targeting individuals for censorship,” the statement said.

“Freedom of expression must be protected – online and offline.

“Examples of this conduct are troublingly numerous. EU Commissioner Thierry Breton threatened X for hosting political speech; Türkiye fined Meta for refusing to restrict content about protests; and Australia required X to remove a post criticizing an individual for promoting gender ideology.

“Even when content may be objectionable, censorship undermines democracy, suppresses political opponents, and degrades public safety.

“The United States opposes efforts to undermine freedom of expression. As [US Secretary of State Marco Rubio] said, our diplomacy will continue to place an emphasis on promoting fundamental freedoms.”

The eSafety Commissioner claims that Chris’s X post was cyber bullying.

He simply re-posted a Daily Mail article headlined “Kinky secrets of UN trans expert REVEALED: Australian activist plugs bondage, bestiality, nudism, drugs, and tax-funded sex-change ops – so why is he writing health advice for the world body?”.

He then added the comment: “This woman (yes, she’s female) is part of a panel of 20 ‘experts’ hired by the @WHO to draft their policy on caring for ‘trans people’.

"People who belong in psychiatric wards are writing the guidelines for people who belong in psychiatric wards.”
