Premier Steven Miles gaslights Queensland women

Queensland Premier Steven Miles refuses to define the word woman but has recently made a bizarre post on social media surrounded by women, boasting that his government will protect women.

It is impossible to protect women if the word woman is not defined.

It is impossible to protect women from violent or aggressive men if your government insists women can have a penis, that is, if you think men can be women.

Premier Miles shared a nine second video featuring himself, Health Minister Shannon Fentiman, State Development and Infrastructure Minister Grace Grace and Housing Minister Meaghan Scanlon standing alongside him with their arms folded.

It was uploaded with the caption: "Gang's all here to protect women in Queensland", while a graphic in the video listed a number of ways the Queensland government aimed to protect women.

This included addressing a women's right to choose, women's healthcare, breast screen services, midwife-to-patient ratios, reproductive leave, victim survivors, DV leave, super on parental leave, free kindy, women in trades, period product in schools and respect for women at work.

It is pure gaslighting and a slap in the face to all women. His government passed self-identification laws allowing males to access all women’s sex-based services, spaces and sport.

Queenslander Sall Grover took to X to express her disgust.

"Shannon Fentiman blocked me when I said a woman is an adult human female & refused to meet with any Queensland women regarding our concerns about laws to allow any man - literally any man - to legally identify himself as a woman," she said.

"So, please. Don’t gaslight women. It’s pathetic."

In Ms Grover's court case, Federal Court Justice Robert Bromwich found Ms Tickle to have been victim of unlawful discrimination after being banned from the woman-only app.

Following her dig at Ms Fentiman, Ms Grover proposed a meeting with the Premier "to have a conversation about how to protect women".

"Allowing us to be a sex class in law that men cannot identify into is the start of the conversation," she posted, alongside a photo of a headline from her court defeat.

Within just five minutes of Ms Grover's public offer to Mr Miles, she was stunningly blocked by the Premier.

So much for democracy. So much for free speech.

The Queensland Premier and his government know what a woman is but won’t dare legislate it, be challenged about it or even discuss it.
