Just when you think we have reached peak insanity, a story like this comes along.

The Times Colonist has reported that menstrual products should be free for all people who need them – male and females.

"People who menstruate have to plan their lives knowing that things will be disrupted for one week out of every month, and this includes preplanning and making arrangements on top of dealing with pain and discomfort."

The report then descends into the ridiculous.

“It is also important for us to understand and acknowledge that transgender males and non-binary people menstruate, and we can’t just label this as a woman’s issue."

Kirralie Smith, Binary spokeswoman, was amazed such nonsense could even be published.

“Of course menstruation is a women’s-only issue. Only women have periods, produce eggs, gestate babies, give birth to babies and produce breast milk to feed babies. The narrative that suggests there can be male periods or pregnant men is insulting to women and our collective intelligence. These statements deny science and reject biological facts.”
