NSW breastfeeding kerfuffle
NSW politicians have read the writing on the wall, and surprise, surprise they have taken heed.
Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane took to social media in an embarrassment to the Minns government revealing a new document had replaced words like “women” and “mother” in state government breastfeeding policies.
Kellie Sloane shared to social media on Thursday that after she had raised concerns Parliament backflipped on the changes
“A win for common sense. Finally.”
The post continued: “After I raised my concerns yesterday about the words “women” and “mother” being removed from State Parliament’s breastfeeding policy, the Premier has agreed to have them returned to all policies relating to breastfeeding.”
Premier Chris Minns described the terminology used as “strange,” declaring government guidelines will be revised to reflect “common sense language.”
“That’s what the public expects, and that’s what I expect.”
Of course that is what the public expects.
The Minns government still has a long way to go though. They allow people to rewrite history and change historical facts on birth certificates. A person can change their identity simply because they ‘feel’ like it.
Women and girls are still being forced to compete on unfair and unsafe playing fields because the state government refuses to protect or define the terms woman/female/girl.
Around the state and around the country common sense and reality have been replaced in law with lies and fantasy.
This move by Minns is a positive first step but there is a very long road still ahead.
