Michael Barnett won an order of Australia medal in the Australia Day list of 2023 for “service to the LGBTQI community.”

On the 11^th December 2023 he posted this on his X account.

On 10 July 20232, I tweeted about Ms Kirralie Smith. I used language that I accept was wrong and inappropriate, and I withdraw it without reservation. I apologise to Ms Smith for any harm caused to her by my tweet.
