Mel Jefferies in her own words
It is way beyond time to listen to detransitioners.
Mel Jefferies has been through hell and made it out the other side, barely. Below we have reproduced two social media posts in full. She deserves a voice. Please read and share.
This is me at 20. I bound my breasts daily from 18-25.
8 years ago today, my breasts were removed.
I can never get back what I have lost from going down the path of medicalisation.
“Gender affirming care” didn’t save my life. It ruined it.

I logged out of x shortly after making it, and have spent the past few days feeling immense grief over the body, life and time I lost. I appreciate all the love and support so generously given to me.
I've become a 'canary in the coal mine' from "gender medicine". Whether or not you are ready to hear the message is on you, but I feel it is my duty to speak up.
It's why I am pursuing my legal case. It's why I am so dedicated and fervent about my recovery. When the time comes next year for me to get a shot at justice, I need to be ready and able to do what is necessary.
Going forward, I will be intermittently on x as I need to prioritise my health, current projects and my relationship with God.
Secondly, I would like to speak about the conditions currently facing us in Australia. The fight ahead of us is not one we can run from. It takes dedicated people organising, speaking up and taking action.
I have suffered so prolifically because truth isn't prioritised in our society. It fell to the wayside whilst the value of being "nice" became centred.
But lying and misleading people about material reality isn't kindness. It isn't kind to enable people in their gendered delusion and body distress. It isn't kind to promise someone inclusion or belonging at the cost to safety, dignity and social cohesion in our communities.
The new anti vilification laws here in Victoria pose questions such as: if I were to describe people with these "protected characteristics" who have sexually violated me, will I be breaking those laws?
How does this help victims, if we cannot describe the proclaimed identities or characteristics of those who have harmed us? How will it impact crime prevention or feeling safe in our communities? How will the second and third order consequences of these laws affect social cohesion?
If those same identities get welded in a way that means perpetrators receive lesser punishments, how is that just or fair? Silencing discussion on these issues is not a fix.
This is particularly relevant as a detransitioner with the weaponisation of suicide and self harm by trans activists in an attempt to cull any discussion about the ongoing and widespread harm of gender ideology.
I trusted the "experts" and the "science". I listened to those with lived experience and what did I get? Irreparable harm, with efforts to marginalise my voice by those who exist in ivory towers and ignore people like me.
They don't live with the reality of having to self exclude from necessary services. They don't live with the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual scars of being lied to and "affirmed" for over a decade. They merely label lived experience like mine as "misinformation" and disruptive to "social cohesion".
Unfortunately, I am not alone in my suffering. People are still angry about the lockdowns, and the left’s soft-on-crime and immigration policies. The same people who want to alter and dilute what it means to be a woman or an Australian, want to dictate and control every aspect of your life. They want to censor and limit your ability to live well. They want you disenfranchised and isolated in your suffering.
The same people who proclaim empathy and kindness as a virtue, regularly demonstrate their lack of ability to show compassion or even understanding to the average Aussie.
The eKaren and under 16s social media ban are two particularly pernicious examples of the disenfranchisement and censorship faced going forward. Make no mistake, neither policy is about protecting children but protecting and further entrenching their political ideology.
If we cannot properly diagnose societal ills or critique bad ideas, how can we reach an appropriate and comprehensive remedy?
Those in power have a limited time frame to course correct and maintain credibility. They cannot persist in refusing to engage or choose to remain willfully ignorant. The longer they wait to acknowledge the harm of these ideas, laws and policies; the more difficult it will be to have a cohesive, productive and thriving Australia.
Finally, praise be to God. I am eternally grateful and thankful that I did not die while I was enslaved to gender ideology.
It is the sovereign work of merciful and loving Lord, who created me anew so I could demonstrate my obedience and repentance.
Thank you God for saving me, and showing me grace. Use me for your glory, for the good of your people.
Amen, and God bless you all.
