This hits the mark. It is something I wish every adult Australian understood.

People are often telling me it is up to underage girls to forfeit or self-exclude to teach perverted men a lesson.

I get it. It would be amazing if entire teams refused to take the field and send a strong message to the opposition who insist women can have a penis.

But you know what? They have tried. And failed.

Several Australian football (soccer) teams have forfeited against an opposing team that has up to five male-born players. The girls and clubs were threatened with legal action.

People then say the girls should just leave the competition.

And let the men who wish they were women win?

How is that fair? How is that right? How is that just?

It doesn’t change anything. The girls just miss out on playing and on opportunities to progress in their chosen sport.

Aussie girls have tried to forfeit; they have self-excluded. It does NOT work.

Meanwhile Ausport and similar organisations increase protections for males who participate in women’s sport.

It makes no difference and the girls put themselves in harm’s way only to be gaslit and threatened with legal action.

They have to share the playing field and changerooms with adult males who pretend to be women. Or they leave the sport they love and have sacrificed for. It is unfair and unsafe.

This is one of the reasons why I am appealing in the Supreme Court of NSW in two weeks’ time.

It is not vilification to take information posted by the football clubs themselves and reshare it. It is not vilification to call them males and question their presence in women-only sport. It is not something any woman should be penalised $95,000 for saying.

No female should ever have to put up with males on the playing field or in the changerooms in women’s sport.

The adults in the room must stand up!
