Green’s founder to be expelled over transgender ideology
The Greens are anti-women, anti-free speech and anti-reality.
They have been embroiled in drama for several years over the clash of women’s sex-based rights versus the demands of trans ideology.
Members have been expelled for stating reality, backed by biological science. The latest casualty is Drew Hutton. The 78 year-old helped found the Greens party along with Bob Brown in the 1980s.
Hutton has been purged for his support of women’s sex-based rights and the exercising of free speech.
Former leader Bob Brown and the party’s second national leader, Christine Milne, are supporting Hutton and have written to the party to advocate that his membership be restored.
“The important thing isn’t me,” Hutton told Guardian Australia. “The important thing is the Greens.
“Are they going to be a dogmatic, authoritarian party that exerts all this top-down control over members? Or is it going to be the sort of party that people like Bob Brown and myself originally created with a historic mission to try to push the world to a more sustainable footing?”
Queensland Greens’ convenor, Gemmia Burden said, “commentary that targets people on the basis of their gender identity is harmful, not respectful. The Queensland Greens believe that trans rights are non-negotiable, and we do not tolerate transphobia or transmisogyny in the party.”
The thing is, trans identified people have more rights than most. They are colonising women’s spaces, sports and services without challenge and enjoy many special privileges under law. Female Greens party members have previously been expelled for pointing this out and advocating for women’s sex-based rights.
On his personal Facebook page, Hutton labelled these moves “authoritarian and antidemocratic”.
“I believe in full human rights for trans people at the same time as supporting the right of women to be safe from patriarchal oppression,” he wrote.
“I am also prepared to say these things publicly. Unfortunately, in the Greens at present that would seem to make me a ‘transphobe’ … .”
The lifelong Green’s member did not want to harm trans-identified people, but felt that the discussion was an important one for all to engage in.
In this lengthy statement, Hutton claimed his original post was not written because he wanted to “say anything about the trans-gender issues themselves” but because “deeply concerned” about party officials overturning the results of democratic elections and purging members for raising questions “progressives should not be afraid to address”.
“I stand with all women, cis and trans in their struggle and recognise the many non-binary members of our party,” he wrote, signing off with a plea for “inclusive, safe and respectful” policy and process discussions.
The reality is transgender ideology and women’s sex-based rights are at odds. Only one can prevail. Without vigorous debate and discussion women and girls will be trampled and sacrificed for the sake of the feelings of a few confused males who want to dominate women’s spaces.
The Greens have never been just about the environment, but the last few years have proven they have truly lost their way with policies that are authoritarian and are not rational or sane.
