Emily is a national hero
Australian primary school athlete Emily, has taken her concerns about girls sport to the Victorian state parliament.
Victorian Liberal MP Moira Deeming welcomed Emily and her family to Spring St as she blasted the state government for their protection and promotion of males in female sport.
“It was nearly my first year making it to regionals and it was a bit sad not making it there,” Emily told Sky News in a sit-down interview from parliament.
“I'd like to see that the rules get changed and that next year, girls are a bit more confident in running and doing sports and just hope girls feel comfortable in their normal spaces, like girls' toilets, change rooms and all that.”
Ms Deeming has taken up Emily’s case, lashing Education Minister Ben Carroll in the Legislative Council, as Emily and her father Troy watched on from the gallery.
“Girls have complained to me about being forced to compete against boys, after which they lose or they get injured and then they are just told to be nicer or get over it,” Ms Deeming told parliament.
“Girls in Victoria do not feel safe or comfortable and they aren't allowed to have fair sports. Will the minister fix this or do they just not care about girls at all?”
The MP praised Emily’s courage in light of the pressure faced by critics of gender ideology.
“She's extremely brave to stand up and say that it's not right what happened to her because, as we know, every single other person who has stood up and said these things has been viciously attacked but, Emily, we are not going to let that happen to you,” Ms Deeming told parliament.
“You will not be standing alone. For every girl in this country and state who has had her right to fair sport and privacy and dignity taken away from her - Emily, you are standing up for them and we are going to be standing with you.”
Emily is a hero for standing up for women’s sex-based rights. She knows first hand what it is like to lose to a male in her girl’s category. There is no reason what-so-ever to gaslight girls into accepting the lie that a boy can be female.
Too many Australian girls are forced to self exclude or silently cop the humiliation of being forced to accept males in their sex-based category. Trans identified males should have their own category or compete with other males. That is the only safe, fair and dignified way forward.
The Olympics will not tolerate males in female sport and neither should we.
