Children’s book that affirms biology
Carol Lee, a children’s author who lives in Melbourne, has authored and illustrated a charming book affirming biology.
Milo: A dog who likes to meow is a delightful book for young children. Milo knows he is different because he likes to meow. He can bark and do other dog-like things such as dig, play catch, sniff and play.
He feels some pressure to identify as a cat but resolves through the story that it is quite okay to be a dog that meows.
Over the past decade or so children have been largely deceived into thinking they must change their bodies if they don’t feel like they fit the stereotypes.
What a terrible indictment on our society.
Children do not need to fit stereotypes; not one was born in the wrong body!
Every child must be affirmed in reality, to embrace who they are regardless of whether or not they fit stereotypes.
This book is a great tool to add to your library to reinforce the powerful and true message that every child is perfect just the way they are.
