Child abuse in Queensland gender clinics exposed
Harmful drugs given to children without parental knowledge or consent
The Crisafulli Government have confirmed 42 Queensland children have been put on harmful, experimental medical pathways without parental knowledge or consent.
The children, who cannot drive a vehicle, get married, obtain a tattoo, smoke or live alone, have however, been put on puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones that can cause irreversible and catastrophic harm to their developing bodies.
Parental rights and responsibilities have been usurped by staff at the Cairns Sexual Health Service who decided that children who cannot consent to such treatments would be better off without their parents or carers' knowledge or consent.
“The Cairns Sexual Health Service delivered an apparently unauthorised pediatric gender service without an agreed model of care to 42 pediatric gender service clients, 17 of whom were prescribed stage one or stage two hormone therapy in a way that may not align with treatment guidelines,” Health Minister Tim Nicholls said.
Concerns about the complete betrayal of child safeguarding was first raised in May 2024.
When the findings of this review were released in July 2024, former Health Minister Shannon Fentiman, touted the state’s pediatric gender services as providing safe, evidence-based care that was consistent with national and international guidelines.
“I welcome the findings of this report, which shows, based on the best available evidence, that our Queensland Children’s Gender Service is considered one of the best in the country,” she said at the time.
The so-called findings fly in the face of comprehensive international reports and reviews that prove the treatments are unsafe for minors.
The UK, Nordic countries and some smaller countries have banned or paused such treatments due to serious concerns.
All states in Australia have turned a blind eye to the evidence and favoured gender ideology instead.
Medical practitioners such as Dr Jillian Spencer and Dr Dylan Wilson have raised concerns and have been ignored, or in Spencer’s case suspended.
Despite attempts to silence criticism of ‘affirmation pathways’, more and more medical practitioners are speaking out.
It is understood the alarm was raised about Cairns services by a whistleblowing health worker who lodged a public interest disclosure when they came into contact with a 12-year-old patient from the Cairns Sexual Health Service, who was prescribed puberty blockers without the required consultations with psychiatrists, psychologists, endocrinologists, fertility specialists, paediatricians, social workers and GPs.
It is an absolute travesty that such a young person would have the natural maturation process stolen from them and abused in such a way.
This should be a criminal offence.
Premier David Crisafulli and his government must step in and rectify this blatant abuse.
