Australian politicians react to Trump’s Executive Order about gender

The National Party came out strong, but the Liberal response is woeful

Australian politicians have begun reacting to Donald Trump’s executive orders to enforce the binary nature of sex in all government departments.

Only male or female will be officially recognised in the US moving forward, ensuring the protection of female sex-based rights.

Very few Australian politicians have the backbone to reiterate this factual and scientific statement.

The federal National Party, however, have shown they have backbone on this issue and have come out in support of women’s sex-based rights.

Leader David Littleproud told Sky News that it is common sense and based on fairness.

"I think there's elements of this that come to the core principle of protecting women, particularly in things like sport, I think women should be competing against other women," Mr Littleproud told Sky News.

"You think about it, particularly when you get to the professional echelons, a young woman puts her heart and soul into it and is trying to get to the top, and then someone of transgender comes across and because is physically stronger, rips away that hard work and that opportunity that has been put in front of them.

"We just need to take a deep breath on this, it doesn't need to get emotional. We just need to understand it also comes back to respect, it comes back to respecting that biological basis that we can't get away from when we're born.

"I think we can do that in a sensible way without vitriol, without upsetting anyone, but just respecting there are some changes I think in our society that we need to lean into."

It is astounding that Liberal leader Peter Dutton couldn’t find the courage to take the same public stance.

Instead, he squirmed and made a vague statement that, "We don't have any plans to change our position in relation to that issue." What exactly their position is remains unclear.

Dutton allows some of his party members to speak the truth about women’s sex-based rights, but he couldn't find it in himself to do the same.

Senator Claire Chandler, Senator Alex Antic and Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price have all remained persistent and consistent in their efforts to rectify the woeful act of Julia Gillard in 2013 when her government removed sex-based protections from the Sex Discrimination Act.

Binary applauds them as leaders.

But other members of the party cannot give a straight answer on the topic.

Liberal Senator Jane Hume’s performance on Channel 7’s Sunrise, called women’s sex-based rights a “fringe issue”.

She was clearly flustered and her response could have been fast and factual, yet she played politics and lost the argument.

Women’s sex-based rights are not a “fringe issue”.

The reality of male and female is not a “fringe issue”.

Child safeguarding is not a “fringe issue”.

Government policies and laws currently horrifically cause irreversible harm to children is not a “fringe issue”.

Destroying families and rendering children infertile and without sexual function is not a “fringe issue”.

Housing males in female prisons, courts referring to males as female, allowing males into female crisis services and the explosion of males in women’s sport are not fringe issues.

We need to hold our politicians accountable. Politicians from all parties need to hear from you.

We all need to speak loudly and speak often so these politicians are without excuse.

Call their office and register your opinion today.

Ask them if they read the copy of Devastated that was gifted to them on the 26th of November last year.

The book from Binary includes the accounts of nine families impacted by this dangerous ideology along with two chapters by Professor Dianna Kenny.

The only ones who can hold these people accountable are you and I, the voters.

This election get involved and ensure our families are not made a “fringe issue”
