ABC recruiting kids for Drag Queens story hour
The ABC has been forced into an embarrassing backflip regarding a drag queen story time. They faced a massive backlash after attempting to recruit 3-5 year olds for an audience with adult male entertainers.
Social media users, along with Liberal Senator Alex Antic and the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA), objected strongly to the proposed event.
Many were asking questions like why is the Australian tax-payer funded ABC actively recruiting young children to watch adult performers mock women?
Why are they subjecting “tiny humans” to a performance of adult entertainers who wear womanface?
Rockdale Library was meant to host the event but Bayside Council Mayor Bill Saravinovski claimed he had no knowledge of it until it was brought to his attention on social media.
In response to questions about the event, the ABC issued a statement:
“The ABC condemns the hateful and offensive response we have received from some individuals in response to the callout for this event.
“The event will no longer be held at the Rockdale Library and the ABC is considering how we can safely host it.
“The ABC invited families from within the LGBTQIA+ community to participate in a Drag Queen Story Time event which would be filmed as part of our Mardi Gras coverage.
Child safeguarding is not “hateful” or “offensive”. It is time the ABC and woke librarians understood that children never need to be subjected to hypersexualised males in womanface reading to children.
Drag Queens are not for kids. They are hypersexualised caricatures of women who belong in adult only bars.
It is incredible that these males want an audience of “tiny humans.” It is incredible that the ABC wants to fund and promote it at our expense.
