A school in Brighton in the UK has decided to turn biology on its head and teach 8-year old’s that any gender can menstruate.

News.com reports, ““Trans boys and men and non-binary people may have periods”, adding “menstruation must be inclusive of ‘all genders’.”

The school will be providing bins for all toilets - male and female – while insisting boys can have periods too.

“This school is denying basic biology 101. Only females have periods,” said Binary spokeswoman Kirralie Smith. “Only women can menstruate, conceive, gestate, and give birth to children. It is a beautiful, scientific, biological fact. To deny this is to minimise the role of women in our society.”

Smith is also concerned for the welfare of the students, “It is confusing and confronting enough as it is for 8-year old’s to speak about, and experience, the onset of puberty. To say all genders can have periods is nonsensical, incorrect and will only serve to compound the confusion for these vulnerable children.”
