Parental consent replaced with school authority for gender identity

The Christian Post has reported that, “The state of New Jersey instructed schools on Wednesday to use the preferred names and pronouns of transgender students without the need for parental consent.”

It would appear this government regulation is replacing parental authority and responsibility with schools. The report stated, “Under the policy, a student's preferred pronoun and name must be used in school documents. Meanwhile, the student's birth name and birth gender must be kept in a separate file that is to remain "confidential."

“This is very disturbing,” said Kirralie Smith Binary spokeswoman, “Schools are being told to ignore parents’ wishes and call their children something other than their biological sex. Governments have no right to try and replace parents. Schools and school staff should not be used to undermine a parents’ relationship with their child.”
