Calls to legalise incest
De-gendering marriage was just the beginning. It was never going to be the end game. As warned by many who fought to retain marriage between one man and one woman, the push is on to legalise criminal relationships.
The “No” campaigners were ridiculed and ostracised for warning about movements that would seek legalisation on the back of de-gendering marriage. Bestiality, paedophilia and incest were all flagged as dangerous agendas to watch out for. And here we are. An Australian man is actively fighting to have incest decriminalised, using ‘marriage equality’ as his excuse.
“Australian Richard Morris, who is pushing to change incest laws in about 60 countries, said he supports the legal push in Manhattan Federal Court and that such behavior between consenting adults “should not be criminalized.”
“He and other advocates have launched about 130 petitions, mostly on change.org, seeking to change incest laws around the world. Most have received little support.
“Fighting for true “marriage equality” is “the right thing to do, isn’t it?” Morris said. “It seems to be as unjust as the law that used to imprison gay people, and the law that used to stop people of different races marrying,” he added.
“Keith Pullman, who runs the blog Full Marriage Equality, also cheered on the New York lawsuit.”
Binary spokeswoman, Kirralie Smith, said it is not surprising.
“So many of us warned against this during the marriage campaign. De-gendering marriage was always just the start of the campaign. We warned polygamists, paedophiles and others with deranged agendas such as incestuous tendencies would attempt to use the marriage equality laws to back their own causes. It hasn’t taken long and unless politicians draw a firm line in the sand, we will see more of this agenda progress in our society.”
