Proposed bill will outlaw transitioning for kids

A state politician in Georgia, USA is bucking the trans trend to put the welfare of children first.

The Catholic News Weekly has reported, Rep. Ginny Ehrhart intends to introduce “The Vulnerable Child Protection Act” in the 2020 legislative section.

"A state representative in Georgia has proposed a law that would make it a felony for medical professionals to assist in changing a minor’s gender either through surgery or medication."

"If passed, the act would make it a felony for doctors to perform certain medical procedures on children, such as “sterilization, mastectomy, vasectomy, castration and other forms of genital mutilation.” It would also make it a felony to prescribe “puberty-blocking drugs,” and “cross-sex hormone therapy.”

Ehrhart said she has been working on the bill for two years and while it is not a knee jerk reaction it certainly is timely.

Studies have shown that up to 90% children who are left to develop without medical intervention throughout puberty will choose to identify as their biological sex. Whereas, “A study in the Netherlands from 2010 found that when a child is given hormone blockers, they almost never revert to identifying as their biological gender.”

Harmful side effects of puberty blockers such as reduced bone density, infertility, and disruptions to brain development must also be considered.

Binary spokeswoman, Kirralie Smith, applauded the proposed bill.

“It is so encouraging to see politicians find their voice and take this issue seriously. Medical and surgical interventions for gender dysphoric patients must be considered for adults only. Vulnerable children need protection from activists who are only concerned with promoting their radical agenda.”
