A West Australian doctor and Albany councillor has told his fellow council members he will defy their order to be ‘re-educated’.

Dr Thomas Brough, who sits on Albany council and is the Liberal candidate for the WA seat of Albany, came under scrutiny and criticism from rainbow groups after pointing out the + in LGBT+ can include MAP’s – minor attracted persons or paedophiles.

The ABC ran a story on the doctor who has also been endorsed by the Liberal Party. Albany councillor Dr Thomas Brough, who linked LGBTQIA+ community with paedophiles, gains Liberal preselection - ABC News.

He was then informed he would have to undergo diversity, equity and inclusivity training.
